According to the South African Government, the new legislation over the past year wants our South Africans to consume good quality foods. Think about it... Most of our food, especially Citrus, are exported to first World Countries who only want the best Citrus for their people to consume whilst South Africans consume the lower standard Citrus and foods in general. We only work with the best specialised Farmers with decades of experience and who will produce international export standard approved Citrus to us to ensure our Citrus is the best quality on your shelf. Our Farmer's are approved by Global GAP, Euro GAP, SIZA and locally. We also support farmers who have only the best Health and Safety standards including Labour Practises to ensure that their Labour love their jobs to produce quality fruit directly from the Farmer's orchards. This is how certain we are on our Citrus we offer you and this is why you should only support accredited Citrus. Over the next months and years should you not retail accredited Citrus you could also land your business in trouble with inspectors making their rounds to all retailers of Citrus in South Africa.
Can South African retail stores buy Citrus from MBT Farm?
Yes! However, to buy our fruit you will need to have a good running business with a good standing with SARS. We don't handle cash on site. MBT Farm is regulated to sell our Citrus fruit to all local market buyers. So you will not have any problems with inspectors at your store. Our very own MBT Farm brand will be on our packaging and we have you covered with any problems you may incur. By legislation our local people have a right to consume the best quality foods as those foods we export to other countries.

MBT Farm has made a good name for itself in some of the strictest markets in the World. The EU countries and Korean markets welcomed our brand since we have passed all relevant audits and standards of farming for such precise markets. MBT Farm Citrus Fruit brand is also known in the Asian countries, Far Eastern countries and Middle Eastern countries. Our markets are based on quality that we produce as farmers.
What are our cultivars that we produce?
MBT Farm produces Lemons, Star Ruby Grapefruits, Rose' Grapefruits, Marsh Grapefruits, Oranges and Limes. All our Citrus are farmed for export purposes and meet all relevant international standards. This also ensures that our local markets also get the best quality fruit.
How long has MBT Farm been around for in business and who are the role players?
MBT Farm started back in 2005 by one of the very few Indians in Africa who had a generational blood line in agriculture. Mr Pat Reddy, the Founder, has been involved in the Citrus Industry for over 40 Years. Today MBT Farm is known as the only Indian owned Citrus producing and exporting business in Africa. Now the farms have expanded over the years and are primarily run by the son Mr Darren Reddy together with the Founder and Father Mr Pat Reddy. Both their profiles are packed with experience and corporate governance for the benefit of the business and its staff as well as the benefit for the international and local buyers. The Citrus farming duo have teamed up to satisfy and exhaust all possible avenues to ensure sustainability in agriculture and sustainability of their business relationships for years to come.
